Introducing the PSE Rifle Balance - an innovative patented diagnostic tool designed to determine a firearm’s Centre Of Gravity (COG) in relation to the centre of the bore.

The COG of a rifle in relation to the centre of its bore is influenced by all rifle components including scope, stock, rails, and magazine—where both their weight and their distance from the bore affect the balance through leverage.
Because recoil forces act along the bore line, any mismatch between this line and the rifle’s COG causes the firearm to pivot during firing, altering the launch angle of the projectile and reducing accuracy.
Correct bore-line balance is important because it improves recoil behaviour and launch angle consistency.
The PSE Rifle Balance allows a user to determine how far the COG is from the bore line. By adjusting components or adding weights, the rifle can be tuned so its COG aligns with the bore, minimizing launch-angle change, reducing recoil effects, and improving consistency and accuracy.
We have been manufacturing carbon fibre rifle stocks since 2008. Our speciality is in rifle stocks that have an excellent strength-to-weight ratio. Over the years many customers have been really astonished at how well our rifles shoot, how easy they are to shoot and how well they handle - despite being light weight. Many have complemented us stating that changing the stock to a PSE has transformed their rifle and made it not only more "accurate" but also much easier to shoot - more "shootable".
Whilst a lot has to do with the design, materials used and tech under the hood - the balance of the rifle also has a part to play. We noticed that in many cases the lighter PSE stocks influenced the bore line balance of a rifle in a positive way, brining the centre of gravity (COG) closer to the line of the bore. Over time we learned more about this theory and after years of theoretical and practical research, we developed the PSE Rifle Balance.
